Instant Pot Baked Potatoes Recipe

While I love to make baked potatoes in the oven, I’ve found that I can make quick and easy “baked” potatoes in my Instant Pot. They never disappoint with their soft and tender insides!

How to Make “Baked” Potatoes in the Instant Pot

For these amazing Instant Pot potatoes, you’ll only need two things. You’ll need:

Russet potatoeswater

We prefer to use Russet potatoes for our baked potatoes since they have such soft and tender insides, making for a perfect baked potato. Since an Instant Pot requires liquid to develop pressure, the water is a necessary ingredient in this recipe. I like to use a steam basket or even the trivet with handles for this recipe. You’ll just want something that lifts your potatoes out of the water as they cook. Once I have my steamer basket or trivet situated into my Instant Pot, I arrange my potatoes. For this recipe, you can easily stack your potatoes inside the Instant Pot. It is perfectly okay for them to be snug inside. Next, place the lid on the Instant Pot. Close the vent and set the Instant Pot to steam for 10 minutes. Then, allow the pressure to release naturally, about 20 minutes. Open the venting seal to allow any excess pressure to release and then carefully remove the lid to your Instant Pot. Carefully cut open your baked potato and fluff the inside of the potato using a fork. Add your favorite baked potato toppings. We love butter, sour cream, salt and pepper. Make Ahead Instructions

Prepare this recipe according to recipe instructions. Allow the baked potatoes to cool completely and then store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
