What are Overnight Oats?
Overnight oats are a no-cook method of making oatmeal that is perfect to make ahead of time for the next morning or a few mornings at a time! Instead of cooking them, the raw oats are soaked in milk or a milk alternative in the fridge so that they are soft enough to eat. The most common base ingredients are oats and milk or a milk alternative, like almond milk or coconut milk. It’s best to use old-fashioned oats and not quick or instant oats for the best texture results. The oats are soaked overnight in the refrigerator. Once you have the base ingredients, you can add various toppings and ingredients to your oats to create some favorite flavor combinations! These Peaches and Cream Overnight Oats are a scrumptious overnight oats recipe you’ll love. Let me share how to make them!

Be sure to see the recipe card below for the full listing of ingredients, instructions, notes, and estimated nutritional information.
old fashioned oats – This type of oats gives the best texture for making this recipe. Do not use quick or instant oats as it will result in mushy oatmeal after soaking overnight to make the recipe. milk – Use your choice of dairy milk, coconut milk, or almond milk to soak the oats. maple syrup – A bit of this is optional but adds a hint of sweetness to the oatmeal. You can alternatively use the same amount of honey if you prefer. peach – Slice a fresh peach or use frozen peaches if you wish. If you use frozen peaches, you will add them to the top of the jar before placing them in the refrigerator to overnight soak, and they will thaw in the fridge and be ready to enjoy the next morning! heavy whipping cream – This adds an extra creaminess to the recipe that is so delicious! You can use coconut cream instead if you wish.
Step-by-Step Instructions
This recipe is for a single serving, but it is so easy to make multiple servings at once by placing the ingredients for the recipe in as many individual jars as you wish. Here’s how you’ll make them. Gather jars – To make these oats, gather individual jars for the ultimate in grab-and-go convenience. I love small Mason jars with lids and other glass jars with lids. While the recipe I’m sharing for the peaches and cream overnight oats is for one serving, I love to make multiple single-serving jars at once. Add the oats and milk – In one jar, add the amount of oats as instructed in the recipe. Then add an equal amount of milk to the container. Repeat for as many individual jars as you are prepping. Drizzle maple syrup in the jar – This is optional, and you can adjust the amount to suit to your tastes, but add maple syrup or honey to each jar. Give it a stir and refrigerate – Once the oats, liquid, and sweetener have been added to my jars, I give them a quick stir to combine them. If using frozen peaches, add the frozen peach slices to the top of the oat mixture. Then top the jar with the lid and then pop it into the refrigerator to rest overnight. Serve oats in the morning – The next morning, grab a jar from the refrigerator, sprinkle on a bit more old-fashioned oats for texture (optional, but I highly recommend!), and top each jar with fresh peach slices and a drizzle of cream.
Storage Tips
Keep the overnight oat jars with the airtight lids in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you are like me, easy, time-saving recipes like this overnight oats recipe are perfect mealtime solutions! For these oats, I mix a few up before bed at night, and then the next morning, we are greeted with a ready-to-go, wholesome whole grain breakfast that my family loves.
