on Jun 06, 2012, Updated Jul 05, 2023 22 Comments What are they? Well, they are quite possibly the best cookies in the world. Especially if you like salted caramel, almonds, and pistachios. Yeah, I thought you might. What’s not to love, right? This is one of those cookies that once folks take a bite, they decide they just might have another cookie after all. At least that’s how it works at my house. Your house may be full of normal people full of self-control and well-disciplined to the point they can eat just one cookie and be satisfied. I envy people like you. As a matter of fact, I think I’m still working off the last batch of these cookies I made! Which is probably why it doesn’t bother me so much that I realized yesterday afternoon as I was chatting on the phone with a friend (even though I hate to talk on the phone except with very, very, very, very few people) that I have my great aunt’s obsession with watering my flowers. It’s all I think about doing as soon as I get up in the morning. Going to check on my flowers. Obsessing over the weather and whether or not it is going to rain so I know how to adjust my watering schedule. Wondering if I’m giving my flowers too much Miracle Grow as I’m watering them. Counting to 30 as I water each one and then moving on to the next. Wondering why two identical plants, potted in identical pots at the same time are not responding the same to my whole watering thing I’ve got going on. Wondering if I was a bit over zealous in my deadheading of my geraniums, butterfly bushes and hydrangeas and if I give them a bit more Miracle Grow will I have blooms for the party we’re having at our house this weekend. Yeah, I’m sorta consumed with this whole watering bit. On the upside, my great aunt is 90-something years old and still has the best looking flowers I’ve ever seen. So hopefully, my flowers will realize what they are supposed to do and handle their part of this deal. I’m hoping. In the meantime, making these cookies did cause me to concentrate on something besides my whole flower watering craziness. For a little while anyway. Here’s how you make them. Enjoy!Robyn xo
