This time of year, I really appreciate quick snack recipes, especially with friends and family frequently dropping by to hang out or watch the game. When Jolly Time Pop Corn asked me to help celebrate their 100th birthday, I knew it was the perfect excuse to nail a quick and delicious snack recipe—enter the 10-Minute Ginger Wasabi Popcorn.

How to Make Wasabi Popcorn

Step #1: Pour 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil and ⅓ cup popcorn kernels into a 3-quart or larger pan with a lid. Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but I was a bit intimidated by popping my own corn. It only took one try (following the package instructions) to successfully pop some corn—and I felt super proud of myself. Now, I can’t wait to show my nieces—it’s really fun to see the kernels go crazy in the pot! All kids love popcorn, right? And since Jolly Time Pop Corn is family-owned, I bet they have a ton of fun making this tasty popcorn whenever they get together. Step #2: Cover the pan and set the heat to medium-high. Shake the pan gently to keep the kernels moving and allow steam to escape. Remove from heat once the popping stops and transfer to a large bowl. Step #3: In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 3 tablespoons of oil along with the wasabi, ginger, and salt. Drizzle over the warm popcorn and toss well to coat. If needed, you can reheat it in the oven at 250°F (120°C) for about 5-7 minutes to restore its crispness. Avoid using the microwave, as it may make the popcorn chewy.
